We’re always happy to help – please contact us.
Our training is deliberately designed to be suitable for everyone: professionals looking for CPD, people new to psychotherapy or counselling and anyone interested for personal reasons. Each course is presented in clear language so as many people as possible can benefit from the information, techniques and skills we teach.
There are a few courses, such as The Fast Trauma and Phobia Cure, where you need to attend another of our courses first so that you have the necessary skills to get the most out of attending and some that are identified as being for experienced therapists – these are specified as such on an individual course’s page.
Many people find a 1-day workshop or one of our Online Courses a good place to start.
No. Although numerous courses count towards Part 1 of the HG Diploma, the vast majority* are designed as stand-alone CPD courses for anyone working with people in distress – people from a wide range of professions attend our training as it provides them with essential psychological understanding and evidence-based therapeutic skills that they can immediately implement in their work.
Many of our informative courses are also suitable for anyone interested in a subject for personal reasons.

*There are a few exceptions, a couple of courses are for qualified HG Therapists, but these are clearly marked as such.
Our 1- and 2-day workshops are held in major cities in the UK. You can find out more about the locations and venues here.
We can also bring our training to you – our in-house training often proves a highly cost-effective way to update your staff’s skills and knowledge – and offer a wide range of live-online training workshops.
If you live outside the UK, try our online courses and publications.
Each of our courses gives you important new information that will immediately increase your understanding of its subject, along with proven techniques and/or skills that will make you more effective.
If you work in the caring professions, you can use what you’ve learnt the very next day. If you are new to the field of mental health, we recommend you take time to practice what you are learning and attend as many courses as possible to build up your knowledge and skills.
Because of the flexible way our Diploma Course is designed, you don’t need to apply to start Part 1 of the HG Diploma, but you will need to complete a Diploma Application form in plenty of time to secure a place on your chosen Part 2 course – read more.
If you haven’t yet done any of our training yet, we recommend you take at least one or two of our diploma-linked courses before applying for Part 2, to make sure our training is for you.
If you’d like to talk to someone about the Diploma, please call us on +44 (0)1323 811690 9.30am–5.30pm (GMT) or email us to request a callback.

Yes. Graduates of the Human Givens Diploma to practitioner level are eligible to join the Human Givens Institute’s Professional Register of human givens practitioners, which is independently accredited in the UK by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA) – this is the same government authority that oversees BACP, UKCP, NCPS, the General Medical Council, and many others.
This Mark of Quality assures the general public, service commissioners and employers that human givens practitioners belong to a register vetted and approved by an independent statutory body. The Professional Standards Authority was established to protect the public through its work with organisations that register and regulate people working in health and social care. Accountable to the UK Parliament, its reports help Parliament monitor and improve the protection of the public.
Accreditation with the PSA was achieved by the Institute following a rigorous process of evidence provision and demonstration of high standards in all of the measured areas. The Human Givens Institute successfully met the PSA’s high standards in: governance, education and training, managing the register, setting standards, providing information and complaints handling.
Accreditation also offers practitioners working in counselling and psychotherapy a means, by joining the HGI, of demonstrating their personal commitment to meeting high standards.
Most employers, including the NHS, look for psychotherapists and counsellors who belong to a recognised register accredited by the PSA.
