A newly published paper by Dr Gareth Hughes explores how the Human Givens framework could help universities better support students during the transition to higher education. The paper argues that major life changes, such as starting university, can disrupt the ways people meet their emotional needs and that by placing needs and resources at the centre of student support, universities may be able to reduce distress, build resilience and help students navigate change more successfully.

Published in the Journal of Perspectives in Applied Academic Practice, the paper offers valuable insights for educators, mental health professionals and anyone interested in student wellbeing. Read more >
