Letter published in The Guardian

In a recent letter to The Guardian, human givens therapist Ann Marie Taylor responds to discussion about the limited progress in developing new psychiatric drugs, suggesting that medication is not always the most effective answer to mental distress.

She points to the significant advances made in talking therapies, highlighting PTSD Resolution, which provides free, effective treatment for PTSD to UK military veterans. The letter argues that the real challenge now lies not in discovering new approaches, but in rolling out and funding those that are already proven to work.

It’s a timely contribution to the wider public debate about mental health care and where research, attention and resources could make the greatest impact.

We encourage everyone to write in to newspapers, contact radio shows or podcasts hosts, comment online etc, whenever an opportunity arises to help increase awareness of the effectiveness and benefits of this approach – it’s much needed in our increasingly harsh world.
