This is the final Practitioner Level Qualification of the Human Givens Diploma.
Students who demonstrate a high level of capability in, and understanding of, human givens therapy during this course will pass the practical assessment of their skills and competence leading to a successful Part 3 Practitioner Level Pass which means they are then eligible to become a Registered Member of the Human Givens Institute (HGI) and be entered on its Professional Register of fully-qualified human givens therapists.
With recent changes to the profession, it is now vital that all counsellors and therapists belong to an Accredited Register such as the HGI’s, which is recognised by the Professional Standards Authority — the government body which also oversees the BACP, UKCP, the General Medical Council and many others.
Demand for human givens therapists continues to grow and the HGI receives enquiries from all over the UK and abroad for fully-qualified, accredited psychotherapists and counsellors working from the human givens approach.
This intensive week of skills practice, feedback and ongoing assessment is your route to becoming a fully-qualified human givens practitioner.
It gives students the opportunity for more therapeutic practice, direct feedback and assistance in embedding their skills and knowledge. Throughout the week, students practise and demonstrate a broad range of practical therapeutic skills under supervision and rigorous on-going assessment by the two Diploma tutors and additional facilitators. Before attending, all students must also submit a written case history and accompanying notes on what they have learnt from it.
Those who have already successfully graduated from the course enthuse about how useful and enriching it is – see video above.
To take Part 3 you must have successfully completed Part 2 within the last 2 years*, be a Graduate Member of the HGI (GHGI), hold Professional Liability Insurance and have had at least 3 separate sessions of supervision with an HGI-accredited supervisor within the last year.
* If you took your Part 2 longer ago, you will need to do some refresher training before taking Part 3. Please contact the office to discuss your individual case.
How to apply
There are a maximum of 16 places on each Part 3 course, so we recommend booking your place as soon as possible. Please contact us on +44 (0)1323 811690 Mon-Fri (9.00am–5.30pm).
Attendance at the Part 3 week is £1,725. This includes all tutoring, assessment, refreshments and lunch on all five days. Students are also expected to undergo (at their own cost) a minimum of 3 hours supervision with an HGI-accredited HG Supervisor prior to attending the course and must be a Graduate Member of the HGI.
To secure your place, you will need to pay a registration fee of £500 when you apply. This amount is then deducted from the total course fee, but it is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Once you have successfully passed Part 3, and have been accepted as a Registered Member of the HGI, you are accredited to practice as a human givens therapist or counsellor.
